Wildlife in Lake Mburo game park

Many may judge Lake Mburo national park basing on its size and think it has nothing to it. The fact though is that Lake Mburo has numerous wildlife species like animals and bird species. Some of these may include;

Zebras; Lake Mburo national park is the best destination to find zebras in Uganda besides Kidepo national park. Therefore, you can always be assured of sighting quite a number of zebras in Lake Mburo national park. They are the dominant population in the national park.

Buffaloes; On a safari to Lake Mburo national park you will find numerous buffaloes grazing in the park’s grasslands .The sight and look of these buffaloes is quite beautiful and picture worthy.

Giraffes; In the past, these were unheard of in Lake Mburo national park but of recent the Uganda Wildlife Authority moved some from Murchison falls national park though it is hard to catch a glimpse of these are they are still few of them in the park.

Hippos; This is another wildlife that has quite a high population in Lake Mburo national park therefore it is easy to catch a sight of these in the national park when on a safari there. It is easy to see these on a boat cruise along Lake Mburo.

Leopards; Lake Mburo national park has a hotspot for the leopards that is commonly known as the “leopard rock” and the best time to see these animals is during the night as they are shy.

Lions; These are quite hard to spot in the pack as they were getting extinct but are slowly returning. This was and is of some advantage to the prey animals as their lives are in less danger and conserved more.

Impala; This is a rare gem limited to just Lake Mburo national park. In Uganda the only place one will find an impala is lake Mburo national park.

There are other various wild animals in the park like the eland, hyenas, topi, sitatunga, klispringer, baboons, monkeys, Bohor reedbuck and many others.
