Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi national park.
This day starts with your driver guide picking you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe airport and embarking on an exciting road drive to the extreme south western Uganda. A stopover for lunch will be made en route. The dense rainforest of Bwindi, famous for its gorilla population, is one of the most fertile and rich in the world, being home to a variety of primates, plants, and topical birds. On arrival, check in at the lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge amidst the forests and verdant hills of Bwindi as you wait for the next day’s adventure

Day 2: First round Gorilla trekking in Ruhija and transfer to Rushaga
After an early morning breakfast, and with your picnic lunch we then take a short drive to the park offices for briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. We then hike into the forest to a spot where gorillas were seen the previous night and track from there. Trekking may take anything between 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the family and altitudes which is in excess of 7500 feet. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Cameras and plenty of fast speed films are recommended. Day 3: Gorilla tracking in Rushaga
Early morning breakfast and proceed to the briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of your trip – Gorilla trekking, which may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the group you are visiting. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Day 4: Gorilla habituation Experience in Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will wake up early in the morning and head to the park headquarters to join other clients for briefing about dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas on your habituation experience. After briefing, you will start your trek into the forest guided by researchers and guides. During your trek, you may encounter several birds, other animals and primates in the forest and once you have found the gorillas you will spend four hours with them and return back to the Lodge for overnight. You will have an opportunity to listen and observer researchers doing their work of habituating gorillas and if possible you will be called upon to participate by collecting samples, naming of group members, making calls and so much more. Day 5: Canoe ride and transfer to Kibale forest National park
After having breakfast, you will have a 1-2 hours boat ride to tour some of the scattered Islands on Lake Bunyonyi! Later you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park famous for Chimpanzee trekking and also referred to as the “Primate capital of the world” as it’s a habitat to not only Chimps but also other primates as you will encounter them during the treks. Day 6: Kibale Chimpanzee tracking and swamp walk to Bigodi.
On this day, for those who will do Chimp trekking you will rise quite early and enjoy quick breakfast. Thereafter, you will be guided to the forest and experience tracking of the chimps and other primates in their natural habitat (this is the primate capital of the world). The park’s site guide will take you through this adventurous experience where you may be blessed with enormous encounters of various forest primates like the L’hoest, black faced colobus monkeys, baboons and other forest species. You will enjoy an evening tour to Bigodi wetland. This wetland sanctuary near Kibale forest is famous for the colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and a wealth of bird life like the African Broad-bill and the great blue turraco. Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe
