Lake George
Lake George is a small shallow lake located in the West East African Rift valley. The ranges of Mt. Rwenzori provide water for the lake. The lake flows into Lake Kazinga channel.
The lake supports the agricultural activities around the Rwenzori ranges like Mubuku. It is also a hotspot for fishing activities in the area and the activity is a major contributor to the economy of the area.
The lake is surrounded by islands like Kankuranga, Iranqara and Askia. The animals in this area include the situanga antelope in Rasmar wetland near the lake. The other gem in this area especially the birders is the shoebill. However there are other birds in the area too.
