Assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and then go for the most popular activity in this park which is Chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are man’s closet cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate’s species. More primates like Black and white Columbus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeckedMangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee eater and mammals like Elephants can be seen in this trek. Have lunch and relax for some time. Have an early morning breakfast then go for a morning game drive within the park. Anticipate to see the famous big five including Buffalos, elephants, Lions and other mammals like Giant forest hog, Bush bucks, Kobs, Hyenas and water bucks. Transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi, and this area is known for its tree-climbing lions.
In Ishasha we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with Topis and African Elephants plus to hopefully get the Lions high in the fig tree branches. You will have lunch in Ishasha and continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle covered mountains. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist camp
Early morning breakfast and proceed to the briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of your trip – Gorilla trekking, which may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the group you are visiting. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have packed lunch. After Gorilla trekking, you will drive through the terraced hills to Lake bunyonyi. Besides canoeing, there is a short list of optional activities: swimming (safe in this lake), hiking on some of the Island trails along the lake-shores, community walks and having a chance to meet the local people with small resident and exotic bird species singing. After your African cup of coffee, ready for a border crossing journey to Rwanda. You will transfer to Kigali city with a possibility to stopover at the Genocide Memorial center at Gisozi. Once in Kigali, you can have an optional visit to the genocide Memorial (Museum) which has collectives of the consequences of the genocide of 1994. You will later be transferred to the airport in Kigali in the evening to board your flight back home as you say farewell to the African wilderness.
